Osimhen Moved to Tears by Galatasaray Fans’ Emotional Tifo

Victor Osimhen was overcome with emotion after Galatasaray supporters unveiled a touching tifo dedicated to him during their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.

The stunning display showed Osimhen holding his younger self, carrying his young daughter, and a large image of his late mother.

The banner carried a heartfelt message that read “We are family and family is everything.” The gesture visibly moved the Nigerian striker, who struggled to hold back tears before walking toward the fans to show his appreciation.

He later repaid the supporters’ love on the pitch by providing the assist for the only goal of the match, scored by Mario Lemina, sealing an important victory for Galatasaray.

Speaking after the match, Osimhen expressed deep gratitude to the fans and emphasized how meaningful the tribute was to him.

“I’ve been very happy since I came here wearing this jersey. This jersey is very special. I wanted to do my best for these fans.

“I lost my mother at a very young age. That’s why it’s so important to me. That’s it. Together with our fans, we are a family. We did a very good job today.”

Osimhen also looked ahead to the second leg of the tie, which will take place at Anfield next week, admitting it will be a difficult challenge but expressing confidence in his teammates.

“The return match next week will be tough, but I have confidence in my guys. I’m proud to have won today.

“I’m very happy to have come to Galatasaray. I’m grateful for the love they’ve shown toward me and my family.”

The striker later took to Instagram to reflect on the emotional night and thank the supporters for their love.

This evening was emotional for me as I struggled to hold back my tears.

Seeing this pure love from Galatasaray fans is honestly something I will never forget for the rest of my life.

From the very first day I arrived, you welcomed me with so much love and respect, not only me but also my family and the people close to me.

Moments like this remind me that football is bigger than the game. It’s love, loyalty, and unity.

I promise to continue giving my all for this badge, this club, and these incredible fans with everything I have every time I step onto that pitch.

Thank you for making this evening unforgettable.

We are one family. ❤️💛 “

The second leg of the tie between Galatasaray and Liverpool is scheduled for Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at Anfield.
