Onyedika Wins Belgian Super Cup

Raphael Onyedika played the entire 90 minutes as Club Brugge won the Belgium Super Cup, defeating Royale Union Saint-Gilloise 2–1.

Onyedika earned a 7.0 match rating, completing 89% of his 33 passes. He blocked one shot that could have led to a goal, made the most tackles in the match, recorded five ball recoveries.

The midfielder also completed four of his seven ground duels, was fouled once, and committed three fouls—showing both efficiency and discipline.

He also contributed to the team’s attack. He delivered one pass into the final third and made two accurate long balls.

This trophy is Onyedika’s second of the year, following his Belgium Cup win in May. The Nigerian midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Belgian side, with AC Milan and Fulham reportedly showing interest in him.

Club Brugge will kick off their league campaign against rivals Genk.

Onyedika will face his international teammate Tolu Arokodare in what promises to be a mouthwatering clash.

A week and two days later, they will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign against the winner between Brann and Salzburg in the qualification playoffs.
