Onuachu Announces Trabzonspor Return With A Bang

Forward, Paul Onuachu’s 49th-minute strike was the difference as Trabzonspor beat Kocaelispor in their first league game of the season.

The match marked Onuachu’s debut in his second spell with the club. It was another debutant, Olaigbe, who delivered the cross into the box that the lanky striker headed home.

After a difficult season with Southampton in the Premier League last term, Onuachu seems to be settling right back in, at Trabzon.

His last goal before Monday’s strike came on April 2nd in a Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

This is Onuachu’s second stint at Trabzonspor; his first was highly successful where he scored 18 goals and provided four assists in 26 games.

With a debut goal in his return, signs point to a promising run.

Should Onuachu’s performance stay consistent, it could convince Eric Chelle to call up the 31-year-old for the crucial World Cup qualifiers in September and the Africa Cup of Nations in December.
