Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has pledged his long term future to Nottingham Forest after signing a new three year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028.
Aina, who arrived at the City Ground in July 2023 on a free transfer from Italian side Torino, enjoyed a stellar campaign under head coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
He played a vital role in Forest’s remarkable 2024/25 campaign, helping the team secure a seventh place finish in the Premier League and reach the semi finals of the FA Cup.
The full back made 37 appearances across all competitions last season, starting 35 of the 38 Premier League fixtures.
He was primarily deployed at right back, where his solid defensive contributions helped the team register 11 clean sheets in the Premier League.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Aina expressed his happiness at continuing with the club.
“I’m over the moon, I can’t wait to continue this journey with the Club. It always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work,” he said.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis described the Nigerian as a player who “epitomises the culture and hard work” expected at the club.
Aina will be expected to play a pivotal role in Forest’s return to European competition next season, with the club set to feature in the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League.
