CAF has confirmed the four teams set to participate in next month’s World Cup Playoffs.
The quartet of Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon and DR Congo will compete in a mini tournament scheduled to take place in Morocco from November 13 to 16, 2025.
Nigeria secured qualification on the final matchday with a commanding 4–0 win over Benin Republic.
That result saw the Super Eagles overtake Burkina Faso to clinch the final playoff spot as the fourth best second placed team.
In the playoff fixtures, Nigeria will face Gabon while Cameroon will take on DR Congo.
The winners of both matches will then face each other, with the final winner earning a spot in the FIFA Intercontinental Playoffs.
It marks a challenging route to the World Cup for Nigeria, but one that could prove rewarding if the Super Eagles reach the final destination.

Their first hurdle will be Gabon, who boast a dangerous forward line featuring Denis Bouanga and Marseille striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Bouanga scored eight goals in the qualifiers, while Aubameyang added seven. Gabon also had an impressive shot conversion rate of 157.5 percent per match.

For Nigeria, much will depend on the form and leadership of Victor Osimhen.

The Galatasaray forward played a crucial role in qualification, registering six goals and seven assists, including a hat trick in the decisive final group game.
Apart from the World Cup ticket on the line, the playoffs offer Nigeria valuable preparation ahead of the African Cup of Nations in December.
If the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup through this difficult route and perform well at AFCON, it could improve their FIFA ranking.
