Nigerian Star Tems to Headline First-Ever FIFA Club World Cup Halftime Show

Nigerian global music icon, Temilade Openiyi, widely recognized as Tems, is set to make history as a headline performer at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup halftime show.

The event, a joint announcement by FIFA and Global Citizen on Monday, is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Tems will share the stage with Colombian superstar J Balvin and American singer Doja Cat.

It is a groundbreaking moment for FIFA, marking their first ever halftime show dedicated specifically to a club football tournament.

“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment – to celebrate football, experience the unity that music creates, and help improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

“I can’t wait – see you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!” Tems said in a statement.

Earlier this year, Tems acquired partial ownership of a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, joining the San Diego FC ownership group.

The FIFA Club World Cup is set to officially commence on the 14th of June, featuring 32 elite football clubs from six confederations competing across 11 cities throughout the United States.
