Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta spoke about Ademola Lookman’s situation in a recent preseason press conference.
His comments were quoted by well-renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano. Marotta has indirectly given Atalanta an ultimatum: either they accept Inter’s bid for Lookman or the club will move on to other targets.
The 68-year-old told reporters in a press conference that took place this week:

“We are in talks with Atalanta for Lookman. We are very keen to bring him in, while respecting both the club and the player.”
He added: “We hope to make significant progress in the next two or three days. Otherwise, we will have to explore other options in the market.”
Atalanta remains firm on their €50 million asking price for Lookman, while Inter are determined not to go past the €40 million mark.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid were keen on signing Lookman and were ready to meet Atalanta’s asking price, but the player didn’t give his permission for the club to proceed with the move.
