The news that Gabriel Jesus To Have A Knee Surgery for the medial ligament knee injury he sustained at the World Cup, according to a report, appears to be going to hurt Arsenal’s championship defense. Jesus suffered the issue during Brazil’s final group match against Cameroon, missing the remainder of the competition and perhaps missing more time after surgery.
Jesus was ruled out for the duration of the competition after suffering probable medial ligament damage during the Selecao’s 1-0 loss to Cameroon in their last group match.
And now The Telegraph has reported that he will undergo surgery, which might keep him out of commission for months while he recovers.
Later on Tuesday, Arsenal confirmed the operation but did not provide any information regarding the likely length of the recovery period.
Jesus played a minor role for Brazil in Qatar since Richarlison’s play allowed Tite to maintain him in the No. 9 position.
The 25-year-old, though, had played a crucial role in helping Arsenal win the Premier League before the midseason break by scoring five goals and providing six assists.
There were rumors that Jesus had a niggle when they faced Cameroon after sustaining his injury, but Tite fiercely refuted them.
