AC Milan is a club that have great history with Nigerian players —including Taribo West, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Taye Taiwo, Aliyu Datti, and Samuel Chukwueze.
With all of the Nigerian talents who have worn the Rossoneri shirt, only Nnamdi Oduamadi has lifted the Serie A title with the club.
Samuel Chukwueze will hope to replicate that achievement after winning the Supercoppa Italiana last season.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian talent, Victor Eletu, is being groomed in Milan’s second team.
According to Luca Bendoni, the Italian giants have extended the 20-year-old’s contract until June 2027, with an option for an additional year.
His previous deal was set to expire last month, but the club decided to give up a new contract as he is viewed by the boards as of the brightest prospects.
Eletu primarily plays as a deep-lying midfielder but can also operate as a central midfielder.
A product of the Nigerian football ecosystem, he began his development at the Prince Kazeem Eletu Academy before joining AC Milan in 2018.
Although he has yet to make his first-team debut, Eletu has been named on the bench a few times—most notably in AC Milan’s 1–0 Serie A win over Napoli in 2024.
He is expected to be part of AC Milan’s Serie A squad this season but if he doesn’t get enough playing time under Massimiliano Allegri, he might move elsewhere on loan to get a taste of first team football which will enable him play on a weekly basis.
Eletu is a former Flying Eagles international he represented Nigeria in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
