Flying Eagles Through to WAFU B U-20 Final… Edge Niger on Penalties

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have secured a place in the final of the WAFU B U-20 Championship after defeating Niger Republic.

The semi-final fixture in Ghana was a tightly contested affair, with Flying Eagles enjoying the bulk of possession, but unable to break down a well-organized Nigerien defence in regulation time.

With no extra time played in the competition format, the match went straight to penalties, where goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt proved decisive – and walked away with the MOTM award.

Harcourt saved one of the two kicks missed by Niger during the shootout and guiding Nigeria into the final.

Flying Eagles will now face Côte d’Ivoire in the final of the WAFU B U-20 Championship, following the Young Elephants’ 2-1 victory over Ghana in the second semi-final.
