‎The National Sports Commission and Nigeria Football Federation have debunked news that the non-eligibility petition against DR Congo before the FIFA Adjudicatory Chamber has been dismissed.

According to the NSC Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, who also shared an update on the case, reports of published rulings on social media is ‘fake news’.

‎By law in DR Congo citizens can not hold dual nationality, however, as many as six players, who featured in the Continental WCQ playoff against Nigeria hold dual passports.

‎‎The NFF petition to FIFA argues that such situation not stands as a clear violation of national laws in DRC, but that it also runs contrary to FIFA’s eligibility rule on switching nationality.
