Eric Chelle’s New Reps Handed Fresh Task… Could End Negotiations with NFF

Eric Chelle has taken a significant step in his managerial career by signing with Marseille-based agency Wilders Sport.

Chelle ended an eleven-and-a-half-year professional relationship with his long-time representative, Abraham Sidibe.

During that period, Sidibe facilitated some of Chelle’s most significant appointments, including roles with the Mali national football team and the Nigeria national football team.

This move signals Chelle’s intent to position himself for higher-profile opportunities across Europe and Africa.

Wilders Sport, registered and headquartered in Marseille, represents several players competing in Europe’s top leagues, including Ignatius Ganago of FC Nantes and Yanis Sofikitis of Stade de Reims.

The agency’s footprint across Ligue 1, Serie A and the English Championship is viewed as a strategic platform for Chelle as he seeks his next major appointment.

Chelle has recently been linked with several roles including the Olympique Marseille job.

He is understood to be monitoring developments at FC Nantes, where Ahmed Kantari has been appointed on an interim basis until the end of the season.

At the international level, the Angolan Football Federation are said to be keen on appointing Chelle as head coach, with reports indicating that a substantial salary package is being prepared to persuade him to take charge.

Chelle made clear that the change in representation is part of a broader ambition to elevate his career per Osasu Obayiuwana [Daily Telegraph/The Guardian].

“It is time for me to take myself to another level. I felt that this agency will give me the required support and advice that I need to do this.”
