Edna Imade Scores but Real Sociedad Fall to Tenerife in Liga F

Nigeria’s Edna Imade continued her fine goalscoring form in the Spanish Liga F on Saturday afternoon, but her strike wasn’t enough to prevent Real Sociedad from suffering a 2–1 home defeat to UD Tenerife at the Ciudad Deportiva de Zubieta.

The 24-year-old forward pulled one back for Sociedad in the 35th minute, after the visitors had stormed to a two-goal lead earlier in the first half.

Her composed finish gave her second goal of the season, and she has now scored in back-to-back matches.

Match Breakdown: Early Setbacks Cost Sociedad

Tenerife drew first blood in the 12th minute when Sakin Ouzraoui Diki opened the scoring, finishing off a neat assist from Carlota Suarez.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute through Natalia Ramos, who calmly converted from the penalty spot to make it 2–0.

Sociedad responded strongly, and Imade gave the home crowd hope five minutes before the break.

She showed excellent movement to get past the Tenerife defence and slotted home confidently to reduce the deficit.

Unfortunately, Real Sociedad couldn’t find an equaliser, despite mounting pressure in the second half as Tenerife’s organised backline held firm to secure all three points.

Imade’s Journey: From Granada Star to Bayern Munich Loanee

Edna Imade returned to Spain this season after an impressive 2024/25 campaign with Granada CF, where she finished as second-top scorer in Liga F.

Her prolific form earned her a transfer to Bayern Munich, but the German giants opted to loan her to Real Sociedad for the 2025/26 season to aid her continued development in Spain’s top flight.

Super Falcons Watch

With two goals in her opening four league appearances, Edna Imade is making a strong case for a Super Falcons call-up ahead of Nigeria’s WAFCON qualifier against Benin Republic, this month.

Edna Imade is however, yet to make an appearance for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
