Ronaldo appeared to have scored again against Uruguay after scoring from the penalty spot in Portugal’s 3-2 triumph over Ghana. Ronaldo rose to flick in Bruno Fernandes’ left-wing cross.

As Ronaldo sprinted off in celebration and leaped into Fernandes’ arms, it appeared to be his goal. But things were not as they looked.

Did Ronaldo Wrongly Claim Portugal Goal? Initial replays of the goal appeared to show Ronaldo’s head making the slightest contact, but closer examination revealed that there was absolutely no contact at all from the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.

The goal was given to Fernandes, who later added a second from the penalty spot as a result of a “horrendous” officiating judgment.

Ronaldo appeared to be smiling as he watched Fernandes receive the first goal on the stadium’s big screens.

Graeme Souness, a former Scotland midfielder, continued: “Only he truly is aware… It is fairly decent acting if he hasn’t touched it.”
The 37-year-old Ronaldo is participating in his fifth and most likely final World Cup.
Portugal has advanced to the round of 16 thanks to their second victory in the group.
