Tests conducted by Lazio’s medical team revealed that the midfielder suffered a Grade I injury to his right thigh flexor during the Derby della Capitale on September 21.

This injury is major blow for Lazio, who are already dealing with a midfield crisis With Danilo Cataldi, Reda Belahyane, and Toma Bašić as the only remaining options.

Matteo Guendouzi would have partnered with the trio at the middle of the pack, but he is also facing suspension due to a red card offence which makes him absent for the upcoming match against Torino due to a red card suspension.

Nigeria shares Lazio’s concerns regarding Dele Bashiru’s absence, as the midfielder plays a key role in Eric Chelle’s plans.

His injury means the Mali-born tactician will need to turn to alternative options for the Super Eagles’ crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Dele-Bashiru’s absence will be felt, particularly due to his reputation as one of the players fans look to when the team is in need of a vital goal.

However, the international break provides an opportunity for Dele Bashiru to focus on his recovery and regain full fitness.

A potential return is expected against Atalanta on October 19, where he will face off against his compatriot Ademola Lookman.
