Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers featured in Panathinaikos’ first UEFA Europa League group stage win of the season convincing 4-1 victory over Swiss side Young Boys.
It was a memorable night for the Greek club, who opened their campaign in style.
Moroccan winger Anass Zaroury was the star of the show, scoring a brilliant hat trick and earning the Man of the Match award.
Polish forward Karol Świderski also found the net, rounding off a dominant attacking display.
Gambian fullback Saidy Janko scored the only goal for Young Boys, a late consolation.
Dessers came on in the 70th minute, replacing Zaroury.

However, the Nigerian forward failed to make an impact in his short time, completing only one pass, recording two touches in the opposition box, one successful dribble, one clearance, and winning one ground duel.
Given Zaroury’s standout performance, it’s unclear if Dessers will start in Panathinaikos’ next league match against Panetolikos.
Coach Christos Kontis may opt to reward the Moroccan with a place in the starting 11 as the team looks to climb the table.
They currently sit 12th and are in desperate need of points, and will face Panetolikos in their next league clash set to take place on Sunday, 28th September.
