Forward Victor Osimhen reached double figures in the Süper Lig this season after finding the net in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor.
Osimhen was on target alongside Sacha Boey and Lucas Torreira as Galatasaray secured an important home win.
The result delighted the supporters, but the main talking point after the final whistle was Osimhen’s humility and leadership.
In a moment that drew admiration from fans and teammates alike, Osimhen returned the captain’s armband to İlkay Gündoğan after the German midfielder offered it to him.
When asked about the incident Osimhen said:

“İlkay is someone I respect very much. I value him a lot. I already respected him even before he became my teammate.
“He is a great person. He is a huge example in the locker room. He is someone who motivates us.
“A visionary. When he brought me the captain’s armband, I thought it was right to put it back on him. For him to lead us.
“He has already done that in a few matches. He has helped us a lot. He is someone I value at the highest level. I want him to continue leading us.”

More Praise for Osimhen
Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk praised the Nigerian forward, describing him as a leader and a central figure in the team.
“If we can get the ball to Osimhen there as much as possible, we will benefit from him more, he will score more goals.
“This is the attacking side, but in terms of defense, his help to the team defense.
“I can actually say that he does this perhaps more eagerly than the defenders themselves.
“This is an important contribution for the team. It is also normal for a player who moves around this much, works this hard, and presses this intensely to not always be 100 percent in position at times,” Buruk said.
Osimhen has now scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray this season.
