Samuel Chukwueze’s transfer to AC Milan has been paused until after the Rossoneri’s upcoming clash with Lecce.
Fulham are close to reaching an agreement with Milan for the winger, with the deal set to be a loan move with the option to buy for €25 million.
Talks are expected to resume over the weekend following Milan’s Serie A fixture, where both clubs aim to finalize the contractual details.
AC Milan face Lecce on Friday, August 29, but it remains uncertain whether Chukwueze will feature.
The winger might destroy his proposed move if he sustains an injury, which may influence Massimiliano Allegri decision to use him.
The Rossoneri suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cremonese in their opening league game.
Chukwueze came off the bench in the 65th minute and impressed, completing 87% of his passes, winning 80% of his ground duels, successfully completing all his dribbles.
He also contributed defensively with a crucial clearance.
The 24-year-old is fully match fit, having featured in four of Fulham’s pre-season matches.
His move to Craven Cottage could prove positive, as he will feel at home with his compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Under Marco Silva’s guidance, Chukwueze is expected to gain regular playing time, which will his development.
Chukwueze has also been called up to the Nigerian squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
