Nigerian trio Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, and Calvin Bassey delivered outstanding performances as Fulham battled Manchester City in an explosive 9-goal thriller.
Despite City’s early dominance, the Nigerians played key roles in Fulham’s spirited comeback, with Chukwueze scoring a brace, Iwobi finding the net, and Bassey putting in a commanding defensive shift.
Manchester City stormed into a four-goal lead within the first 54 minutes, courtesy of strikes from Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders, a Phil Foden brace, and a Sander Berge own goal.
Fulham, however, pulled one back through Emile Smith Rowe, who struck in first-half stoppage time.
While Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey started the game, Samuel Chukwueze was introduced in the 57th minute, and the impact was immediate.
Iwobi got Fulham’s second of the night shortly after Chukwueze’s introduction, igniting hope for a comeback.
Chukwueze then stole the spotlight, scoring a brilliant brace in the 72nd and 78th minutes, showcasing pace, composure, and clinical finishing.

At the back, Bassey was equally impressive.
