AC Milan is happy with Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze. The player was a candidate for sale at the start of the transfer window, as Massimiliano Allegri didn’t consider him part of his project.
But after a string of beautiful performances, the club is now in favor of Chukwueze staying.
The Nigerian scored in the 9-0 win against Perth Glory in AC Milan’s last preseason friendly.
Chukwueze praised Allegri after the win. He told MilanTV:
“Allegri is a great coach—everyone knows that. He has won a lot throughout his career, and now that he’s here, he’ll aim to win trophies with Milan as well. He’s excellent at working with players; he understands what they want and what he needs from them, both in terms of defence and attack.”

“Everyone is happy and working hard, and there’s a fantastic atmosphere in the dressing room. Some teammates even dance, and I’m one of them,” he said with a chuckle. “Having fun makes everything easier.”
The 25-year-old and Allegri are starting to have a great relationship. With their bond growing stronger, Chukwueze is likely to play a key part in the Italian’s project.
Playing weekly will help Chukwueze’s fitness and confidence, as he is expected to play a big part in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers in September and the African Cup of Nations in December.
AC Milan’s first competitive game of the season will be in the first round of the Coppa Italia, where they will take on Bari on August 17, while their league campaign kicks off six days later.
