Super Falcons forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo was in action and found the back of the net as Pachuca sealed a tense 2-1 victory over Guadalajara Chivas in their Liga MX Femenil Apertura clash on Monday night.
The 28-year-old striker broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, calmly slotting home with her left foot after a precise cross from team captain Veronica Corral.
However, just two minutes later, Pachuca suffered a setback when Karla Nieto was shown a second yellow card, leaving the hosts to play the remaining minutes with ten players.
Chivas made the most of their advantage as Alicia Cervantes equalised in the 34th minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Pachuca regrouped and tightened their defence after the break.
Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute, when Corral pounced on a defensive error to restore the lead, finishing coolly into an empty net to seal the victory.
Nigerian Duo Impress Again
Ihezuo, who was substituted at halftime for Ayooluwa Oke, has now scored six goals this season across all competitions.
Her compatriot Osinachi Ohale played the full 90 minutes, receiving a yellow card in stoppage time for a tactical foul.
Pachuca Stay in Title Race
The win keeps Pachuca second in the Liga MX Femenil standings with 39 points, just two behind leaders Tigres UANL.
They next face Club Tijuana on November 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, both Chiwendu Ihezuo and Osinachi Ohale have joined the Super Falcons training camp in Abuja after being named in Justin Madugu’s 21-player squad for Nigeria’s WAFCON qualifiers, which begin on Friday.
