Chiamaka Nnadozie Ranked 4th World Best Goalkeeper at the 2025 Ballon d’Or

Super Falcons and Brighton Women goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has been ranked fourth in the prestigious 2025 Women’s Yashin Trophy, which is an an award presented to the best female goalkeepers in the world at the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

The award ceremony took place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, where the world’s best players and coaches were celebrated.

Nnadozie also broke another record by becoming the first Super Falcons player to break into the Yashin Trophy top five.

Her achievements, alongside Coach Madugu’s continental success, saw them claim nominations in the 2025 Ballon d’Or as not only African giants, but also emerging global contenders in the women’s game.

A Successful Year for Chiamaka Nnadozie

Nnadozie, who recently joined Brighton after moving with Paris FC, capped off a brilliant year that saw her lead Nigeria to a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.

She was also crowned the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.

England’s Hampton Claims Top Spot

The Yashin Trophy was won by Hannah Hampton, Chelsea and England’s number one, who enjoyed a historic year, winning the Women’s EURO 2025 with the Lionesses and completing a domestic treble with Chelsea.

Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger came second, Spain’s Cata Coll finished third, while Nnadozie edged Dutch star Daphne van Domselaar to claim fourth place.

Coach Justin Madugu Misses Out in Coach Category

Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu narrowly missed out on the Johan Cruyff Award for Best Women’s Coach.

Madugu, who masterminded Nigeria’s WAFCON 2025 (Mission X) triumph, finished behind England’s Sarina Wiegman, who was rewarded for guiding the Lionesses to their European Championship crown.
