Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has expressed confidence in his squad ahead of their upcoming match against South Africa.
Chelle highlighted his focus on the team’s performance rather than external issues.
“We are focused on our game plan and on my players. I know the South Africa team is very good, with many good players and an excellent coach with a strong technical staff.
“Like I said earlier, we know this is a big game, so I’m really happy to be part of it, just like my players,” Chelle said.
“We are excited, and this is the moment to achieve something great.”

Chelle brushed off a recent controversy over yellow cards, which arose after South Africa allegedly fielded an ineligible player in a previous game.
“I’m just a coach. I lead my team. What happened around the game—the yellow card situation—is handled by an organization, and its name is FIFA. They need to manage it.
“It’s not my problem. My problem is my players because they are focused and want to deliver another great performance. My focus is on our game, not the surrounding stories,” he added.

Chelle also praised his players, expressing his confidence in the team’s depth.
“Victor Osimhen is a big star and a very good player. But I also have a strong squad with talented players on my side. There are more than enough players to compete, and I can assure you—they all want to play another great game here.”
The Super Eagles face Bafana Bafana at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, with the game kicking off at 5 pm Nigerian time.
