Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has hinted at changes to his lineup as the team prepares for their final group-stage fixture against Congo.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Chelle admitted that mistakes have cost the team but stressed the importance of finishing with pride.
“We are focused on our honour ahead of tomorrow’s game,” Chelle said.
“For this game, there will be some changes because we lost two games, and we need to change something.
“We made a lot of mistakes in the previous games. The tournament is over, but we need to go back with something.”
Nigeria lost their opening two games against defending champions Senegal and Sudan with an aggregate scoreline of 5–0, leaving them bottom of Group D.
They will now aim to bow out of the tournament on a positive note when they face Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, Tuesday, in Dar es Salaam.
