Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Second League Appearance in Olympiacos Win

Bruno Onyemaechi returned to league action for Olympiacos, making his second domestic appearance of the season in the club’s 2-0 victory over AE Larissa.

Onyemaechi was introduced in the second half, featuring for 38 minutes in what was his third outing across all competitions this campaign.

Having gone five consecutive league matches and two UEFA Champions League fixtures without a single minute of action, Onyemaechi had been waiting patiently for another opportunity.

His latest performance showed signs of readiness and determination to earn a more regular role under head coach José Luis Mendilibar.

Onyemaechi completed 14 passes during his time on the pitch, including one into the final third.

He was sharp defensively, registering one clearance, two successful tackles, four ball recoveries, and winning two ground duels.

It was a solid display in limited time, as he slotted in comfortably on the left side of defence.

The 24-year-old now hopes this performance will improve his chances of more regular minutes.

He will hope to overtake Francisco Ortega, who has been starting in the left-back role since he joined the club.

With a packed fixture schedule ahead, Onyemaechi knows consistency in matches will be crucial to break into the starting eleven.

Olympiacos will travel to Spain on October 21 to face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, he will hope to be selected for the high profile match so he could showcase his quality on a big stage.

For now, the Nigerian will take encouragement from his contribution in the win over AE Larissa as he continues to fight for more playing time in both domestic and European competitions.
