Bayern Munich Seal Nicolas Jackson Loan-to-Buy Deal

Bayern Munich have signed Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday. The total deal is worth €81.5 million ($95.4m), according to reports.

Bayern will be paying a €16.5m loan fee and agreeing to make the transfer permanent for €65m in summer 2026.

Jackson will wear the No. 11 shirt at Bayern and joins as part of a late scramble to reinforce the club’s forward line following Liam Delap’s hamstring injury, which is expected to sideline him for two months.

“I’m really happy to now be part of this great club,” Jackson said after completing his move.

“Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. Everyone knows the names of the legends who’ve played here.”

“I’ve got big goals and dreams here and will give my all to help Bayern win further titles.”

A Dramatic Transfer Turnaround

The deal comes after a whirlwind 48 hours in which the move was cancelled and then revived.

Chelsea initially pulled the plug on Bayern’s earlier offer, a €15m loan with a €65m buy clause, due to Delap’s injury leaving them short on strikers.

However, Nicholas Jackson, who was already in Munich, was determined to push through the transfer and instructed his representatives to renegotiate terms.

By Monday morning, a new agreement was in place, slightly improved for Chelsea, enabling Jackson to complete his medical and sign.

Chelsea responded to Jackson’s exit by recalling Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland, just weeks after the 18-year-old joined the Championship club on August 6.

Meanwhile, Tyrique George, who led the attack after Delap’s injury in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Fulham, has joined Fulham in a €25.4m deal that also includes a future sell-on clause for Chelsea.
