Antalyaspor have made a move for Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru, according to reports from Buchi Laba.
The Turkish club has submitted an offer for the 28-year-old, but he is yet to give the green light as he is still considering the proposal.
Onyekuru is taking his time to evaluate his options, with interest also coming from other Turkish clubs, as well as teams in Europe and Asia.
If the move goes through, Antalyaspor are prepared to send a private jet to bring him from Nigeria to Turkey, as he is regarded as one of their top transfer targets.
Onyekuru is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Fayha.
He made 38 appearances and scored 11 goals in two seasons at the club. However, his 2023/24 campaign was marred by a recurring muscle injury, limiting him to just four league appearances.
A fully capped Nigerian international, Onyekuru made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2017 and has since earned 15 caps.
He was part of the squad that won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
If the transfer materialises, it won’t be his first stint in Turkey.
He previously played for Galatasaray—where he won both the league and cup titles and featured in the UEFA Champions League. He also played for Adana Demirspor.
