Alhassan Yusuf has had a good season individually with New England Revolution.
The Nigeria international has started 24 games out of New England 25 league games this season.
Yusuf operates as a center midfielder but his versatility allows him to be deployed in rear cases in a more attacking role or defensive area.
He has one goal and assist in the MLS this season but it’s not the goal scoring stat that makes him stand out, he does more than that on the pitch.
The 25 year-old has given 1177 successful passes this season, 70.1 long ball accuracy, and has created 31 chances this season.
Also, Yusuf has 25 accurate dribbles, 1711 touches with 36 in the opposition box. He has 57% accurate tackles, 131 duels intact, made 31 interceptions, blocked three shots leading to goal, and 154 ball recoveries.
His shot accuracy was poor as he only had five shots on target out of 16 attempted. Yusuf was dribbled past 29 times and dispossessed of the ball 25 times.
New England, 12th in the Eastern Conference, has been struggling in the league, with only six wins out of 24 games this season.
However, with his performance so far he might have a chance of getting into the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
