Ejuke made it clear that personal achievements are not his priority heading into the tournament but instead, his focus is firmly on contributing to the team in whatever capacity is required.
“I’m not chasing personal goals,” he stated.
“I just want to play and help the team in the best possible way I can whether it’s scoring goals, providing assists, tracking back to defend, or supporting my teammates in any way.”
“What matters most is helping the team succeed.”
Second AFCON, Bigger Responsibility
The ongoing tournament is officially Ejuke’s second Africa Cup of Nations appearance for Nigeria, having previously featured at the 2021 edition, where he made two appearances.
Now older and more experienced, the winger will be eager to make a stronger and more decisive impact as Nigeria chase continental glory.
For Ejuke, this AFCON is about more than football. The winger views the tournament as an opportunity to grow, give back and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s football history by helping the Super Eagles secure a fourth AFCON title.
