US President Donald Trump claimed “60 Minutes” paid him “a lotta money” during his recent interview, a boast that was conspicuously cut from the main television broadcast but appeared in the full transcript and online “Overtime” video. During his interview with Norah ODonnell at Mar-a-Lago, President Trump brought up the $16 million settlement his team received from CBS News’ former parent company, Paramount Global, an event that occurred earlier this year. “And actually ’60 Minutes’ paid me a lotta money. And you dont have to put this on, because I dont wanna embarrass you,” the President told O’Donnell. That exact exchange was edited out of the Sunday night CBS broadcast, though it was included in the extended Overtime segment posted online and the full transcript. Trump claims the settlement stemmed from an October 2024 interview 60 Minutes conducted with his Democratic opponent at the time, then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump alleged that the show deceptively edited the Harris interview to make her answers seem more concise.”And they put a new answer in.
