A user on X has narrated a chilling story about a Nigerian man whose family got the shock of their lives during a trip back home.
According to the narration, the man travelled with his foreign wife and three children to Nigeria to visit his people. As they got close to his family’s house, he told his wife he needed to pick something up from a nearby shop and pointed toward his family’s gate. She suggested they should all go in together, but he insisted.
Minutes later, he was nowhere to be found. The shopkeeper confirmed no one matching his description had entered. Thinking he may have gone ahead, his wife and children continued to the family compound.
That was where they were told the unthinkable: the man had died over ten years ago, and his grave was shown to them.
The X user who shared the narration explained that the incident felt surreal, as it was supposed to be part of a personal project on strange online stories until it became something much closer.
Interestingly, this narration came as a reaction to another tweet where someone shared how their father recently greeted a neighbour on the road, only to be told days later that the same man had died four months earlier — something the father had no idea about at the time.
