Police in the state’s capital are looking for a person of interest in connection with the Woman Found Dead in Secluded City Park last week.
The woman, who was found dead on December 22 in Harrisburg’s Sunken Gardens park soon before noon from “severe injuries,” has not been identified by the police, according to PennLive.
Detectives have made surveillance video from earlier that morning available in an effort to identify the man seen walking with the woman while donning a dark blue hoodie, blue shorts, and sandals.
The park known as Sunken Gardens is dug into the bank of a river and encircled by hedges. On the park’s northern edge, the body was discovered in front of a set of doors that led to the machinery used by Capital Region Water. Only the riverside sidewalk provides access to the park.
According to Harrisburg Police Lt. Kyle Gautsch, the woman’s death was determined to be a homicide and that it did not appear to be an accident.
We think they knew each other a little bit,” he said. “The nature of the relationship and the degree of acquaintance are being looked at, but I can say it wasn’t random. The depth of their acquaintanceship is still being looked into, although they did know one another in some way.
