A British-Nigerian mum shared that she and her family have permanently relocated from the United Kingdom back to Nigeria after six years abroad.
In a video, she explained that their decision wasn’t due to immigration issues or financial struggles — it was a deliberate move to “go home.”
“So yes, we finally did it. My family and I packed up our bags and relocated from the UK to Nigeria,” she said. “We’re British citizens and also Canadian permanent residents, so it’s not like we had to leave. We just decided it was time to go home — to Japada.”
Before leaving, she said they sold most of their belongings, kept only what mattered, and said their final goodbyes to a country they had called home for six years.
“When I say goodbye, I mean forever goodbye to the UK,” she said. “We’ve rented out our properties, and honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever move back to live there. But hey, never say never.”
She described the relocation as a new beginning and a chance to reconnect with their roots in Nigeria.
