Pandemonium broke out at the planned formal declaration of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Labour Party’s former governorship candidate in Lagos, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as thugs stormed the venue of the defection and unleashed violence on ADC members.
According to reports, the thugs armed with dangerous weapons, attacked people at the venue of the defection in the full glare of the police who were said to be present at the venue in the Alimosho area of the state.
While speaking with newsmen, GRV said that security operatives and armed groups had blocked access to the original venue of the event, despite full payment having been made.
Rhodes-Vivour was said to have been informed by police officers that the directive came “from above” and was advised to take the matter up with the Commissioner of Police.
He paraded his personal photographer who sustained injuries and had his equipments damaged during the attack.
