A small plane crashed in Ventura County, California, U.S. on Sunday night, February 15, leaving both people onboard in critical condition, authorities said.
The single-engine aircraft went down in a drainage canal in the city of Camarillo shortly after 6 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department announced on X.
Firefighters pulled two people from the plane, and they were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, according to VCFD.
The aircraft did not strike any homes or other structures in the crash.

A shocking photo shared by the county fire department shows the doomed plane came to a rest upside down.
“Firefighters are remaining on scene to address and mitigate any remaining hazards,” VCFD said.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the crash, the fire department said.
