
Nigerian troops and security operatives have arrested a female logistics supplier linked to notorious bandit leader Ado Aliero in Zamfara State.
The army disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
The woman was detained on 6 September in Kucheri, Tsafe district, with weapons, cash and other items, an army source told AFP.
She reportedly admitted to peddling drugs for the wanted kingpin.
Six other suspects were also arrested in separate operations nationwide, with troops recovering arms, fuel supplies and stolen property.
In Borno State, soldiers from the 192 Battalion, working with a hybrid security force, k!lled an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighter in a gun battle near Kwatara Kasa village.
Troops in Adamawa intercepted two alleged fuel smugglers in Mubi South with 19 jerrycans of petrol strapped to motorcycles.
In Plateau State, troops of Operation Enduring Peace uncovered two AK-47 rifles in a cache at Mista Ali village, Bassa district, after interrogating a suspected informant earlier detained in Jos. The man attempted to flee during the recovery operation but was k!lled.
In the capital Abuja, Guards Brigade troops tracked down three suspects who had fled a checkpoint after being spotted in a stolen vehicle from Osun State.
They were arrested in a Gwagwalada hotel, with troops seizing the vehicle, 11 mobile phones and N29,700.
The suspects and exhibits were handed to police.
The army said operations were ongoing to dismantle criminal networks and recover illicit weapons across the country.
