Oyemykke has accused Igbos of misrepresenting Nigerians in foreign countries, thereby leading to calls for the expulsion of Nigerians.
He said this on the heels of the “Nigerians Must Go” protests in Ghana. Though Ghanaians and other countries like the UAE that recently called for migration restrictions on Nigerians did not name a tribe, Oyemykke placed the blame on the Igbo people.
The influencer, whose real name is Abisoye Olukoya Michael, took to Instagram to state that there is something the Igbos are doing “wrong” when they travel around the world for work and business.
He said South Africa, Dubai, Kenya, and other countries are complaining about the same thing when it comes to Nigerians, and they can’t all be wrong.
He added that the same things foreign nations complain about are what “Yoruba Ronus” also complain about; that Igbos come to Lagos and try to dominate.
Oyemykke said: “The truth is, you cannot keep crying wolf all the time, you cannot be victims all the time. The people of South Africa can not be complaining about the same things the people of Dubai, Kenya, and now the people of Ghana are complaining about. That means there’s something you’re doing wrong.
“And if you look carefully, the same things these Ghanaians are crying about is the same things the Yoruba Ronu people were crying about; that you people left your Eastern part, you’ve come to Lagos and you’re saying ‘Lagos is a neutral ground, Lagos belongs to everybody’. You people need to be more sensitive.
“While you’re very strong, and creative and you have the energy to go, you need to be more sensitive to the energies or the environment in which you go to.
“You no fit leave your papa house, come my papa house, come dey tell me say for my papa house you fit overdo me. Even if you can overdo me, don’t put it to my face.”
He said countries do not ask for tribes, and they treat all Nigerians the same based on the passport all Nigerians share.
