A man who was originally accused, 43-year-old Wesley Brownlee Charged with three murders in Stockton has now been hit with four additional murder charges by prosecutors in California.
Wesley Brownlee, 43, was reportedly first detained on October 15 while “out seeking” a different victim, as previously reported by CrimeOnline.
Jonathan Hernandez, 21, Juan Cruz, 52, and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54, were killed between August 30 and September 27. He had previously been accused of their killings.
According to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, Brownlee has been accused of killing Stockton residents Paul Yaw and Salvador Debudey Jr., as well as Oakland resident Juan Alexander Vasquez, Mervin Harmon, a recently discovered victim in Alameda County, and Juan Alexander Vasquez, KTTV reported.
He was also accused of trying to kill Natasha LaTour, who was shot but lived. LaTour, a homeless lady, claimed she was resting in a tent when a man brandishing a gun woke her up. This occurred in April 2021. Harmon died the same day LaTour was shot, and Vasquez had been shot to death six days previously. Shots were fired on July 8 and August 11, respectively, killing Yaw and Debudey.
The shootings were linked together, and Brownlee was named as a person of interest by the investigators. According to Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden, they began intensively monitoring him and eventually arrested him when he was “on a mission to kill.”
