Gauteng police in South Africa have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the brutal m8rder of two young women, Tshiamo Moramaga, 22, and Baleseng Moramaga, 21.
The cousins were discovered killed by gunshot wounds on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
“A 38-year-old man was arrested on Monday, October 27, 2025, in connection with two counts of m8rder and attempted m8rder that occurred in Mamelodi East Extension 17 on Sunday, October 26, 2025,” Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said.
Sibeko said the police investigation revealed that a third victim, who was shot during the incident, is receiving medical treatment in hospital.
“Acting on this information, a joint team consisting of detectives from the Gauteng Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit, Provincial Crime Intelligence, and Mamelodi East Detectives arrested the suspect at a filling station in Pretoria,” Sibeko said
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrates’ Court on October 29, 2025.
The suspect identified as Tebogo Mnisi is said to be the boyfriend of one of the cousins and worked as a bouncer.
A WhatsApp message from Tshiamo sent hours before she was k1lled read, “Tlaa go Tebogo ashuu wa actor moh” (“Come, Tebogo is acting up”), implicating Mnisi.
It was also gathered that the suspect’s home was torched by angry residents later that day.
The mother of one of the young women, expressed her heartbreak, saying she would not wish the pain she feels even on her worst enemy.
Itumeleng Moramaga, 41, confirmed that her daughter, Tshiamo and her sister’s daughter, were the victims.
Itumeleng, who said she was at home in Tembisa, was informed of the tragedy by her eldest sister, the mother of Baleseng
She confirmed that the two young women lived together in Mamelodi, where they rented a room.
“My eldest sister called me in the morning telling me about this incident, that I had to rush there. I asked what happened, and she just said the kids got hurt. I was shocked because my daughter had recently visited me,” she said.
When she arrived at the scene, she was met with the devastating news that the two young women had been shot dead.
“When I arrived there, I found that they had d!ed, and they were already inside the forensic vehicle. I asked to see them, and when I did, I saw that it was them – they had been shot,” she said tearfully.
