
A 26-year-old compulsive burglar, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, has again, been arrested for stealing.
Ibrahim was nabbed with stolen aluminium and electrical wires he allegedly vandalized from a building located behind the Living Faith Tabernacle, aka Winners Chapel, fence.
The suspect who was arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, aka So-Safe Corps, confessed to have previously been arrested on four different occasions for similar crime.
In a statement issued from the Office of the Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the culprit unexpectedly ran into the net of Iyesi Area Command operatives who were on routine patrol.
According to the statement, during its patrol at about 2:00am, the suspect was apprehended. He had claimed to be a scavenger, but had in his possession the stolen aluminium and electrical wires.
Further explaining what gave him out as a potential suspect, Commander Ganzallo said that after a professional and coordinated assessment, the suspect was questioned on how he came into possession of the items, but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation and could not prove ownership of the items.
“During preliminary interrogation, the suspect, who resides at Obasanjo Power Line, admitted to vandalizing a house located behind the Winners Chapel fence. He also confessed to having been arrested on four previous occasions for similar crimes,” Ganzallo stated
Meanwhile, the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Onipanu Police Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
