A simple post by a lady expressing excitement about getting married — just so she can refuse to open the door for her husband when he comes home late — has triggered a wave of unexpected and savage responses from men on X (formerly Twitter).
The original post read:
“I can’t wait to get married and refuse to open for my husband when he comes back home late.”
But it was the replies that really set the tone for the conversation.
One X user responded by narrating a story of a man who faced that exact situation a decade ago. According to him, the man didn’t argue. After being locked out multiple times, he simply checked into a hotel, bought new clothes for work the next day, rented a new place that same week, bought land, and started building. Before the year ended, he had completed the house and moved in — never looking back or contacting his wife again.
“He never ever called or set foot back to date,” the reply read.
Another man also shared his own experience, this time blaming a football match for the collapse of his marriage.
According to him, he delayed slightly after work to watch Manchester United play a Champions League match. His wife, upset that he didn’t come home early, locked him out. When he didn’t react, she packed her bags the next morning and returned to her parents’ house — expecting him to come and beg.
Six years later, she’s reportedly still waiting for that apology.
“It’s six years, she’s still waiting for me to go pick her up from her parents’ home,” he wrote.
“Meanwhile, I now have a beautiful daughter with a woman who gives me peace of mind.”
