Seun Kuti shares his thoughts on Yoruba monarchs

Seun Kuti is calling out the majority of Yoruba kings. 

The musician took to his Instagram stories to state that many Yoruba kings do not believe in Yoruba gods and they make a mockery of what it is to be Yoruba. 

He wrote: “90 percent of Yoruba kings don’t believe in Yoruba gods yet they sit on Yoruba thrones and make a mockery of what it means to be Yoruba. 

“Fanfare in the midst of
misery, Joy in the face of poverty And glamor in the presence of ignorance. 

“Being Yoruba is not a festival!” 
 

Seun Kuti shares his thoughts on Yoruba monarchs

He added: “There is no bigger criminal than the benevolent king/dictator.” 

His post comes on the heels of the Ojude Oba festival.
