Security operatives arrest suspected drug supplier to bandits in Kogi

The Joint Security Task Force (JTF) in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State has arrested another suspected logistics supplier accused of distributing hard drugs to criminal elements in the region.

 

 

The suspect, identified as Owoloja Femi, a native of Ejiba, was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Odo-Eri along Saminaka Road during a routine patrol by the security team.

 

 

According to reports, Femi was allegedly transporting illicit substances intended for bandits when operatives intercepted him. 

 

 

His accomplices reportedly escaped on a motorcycle after loading two cartons of the suspected drugs, abandoning him as he attempted to flee.

 

 

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, who serves as the Chairman of the Okada Riders Association, Ejiba Branch, confessed to obtaining the drugs from a chemist in Egbe for delivery to his associates hiding in the forest.

 

 

Security personnel also recovered N600,000 from the suspect, believed to be proceeds or operational funds linked to the illicit trade.
