Tyrone Blackburn, attorney for Fat Joe’s accuser, was arrested Wednesday morning in New York City for allegedly hitting a process server with his car, according to the New York Police Department. Blackburn was booked on assault charges.
Police say the incident occurred on the night of May 12, when Blackburn was served with a legal complaint related to the Fat Joe civil case. Authorities allege Blackburn reversed his vehicle, striking the 66-year-old process server in the leg, causing minor injury. The victim reported the incident to the police.
The arrest adds a new twist to the ongoing legal battle involving rapper Fat Joe and his high-profile lawyer Joe Tacopina. Tacopina revealed that Blackburn sent a $3 million demand letter on behalf of Terrance Dixon, who claims to have co-written music with Fat Joe. After the letter was ignored, Blackburn followed up with another letter accusing Fat Joe of misconduct involving minors.
In response, Tacopina filed a defamation and extortion lawsuit against Blackburn and Dixon, and hired the process server to deliver the complaint to Blackburn.
Meanwhile, Dixon has also filed a $20 million lawsuit against Fat Joe, accusing the rapper of pedoph!l!a.
