
A traditional singer, John Zuya, popularly known as John Mai Molo, has reportedly d!ed after an alleged poisoning incident in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The late entertainer, who was renowned for his witty performances and traditional songs, was said to have returned from Lagos on October 16, where he had recently performed, before the tragic incident occurred.
According to reports, Zuya began to show signs of distress before collapsing after he consumed suspected poisoned food.
A fellow singer and close associate of the deceased, Emma Wakili, who confirmed the development on Facebook page said that Zuya passed away early Saturday morning, October 18, 2025.
“It is confirmed that John Zuya passed on this morning at 7:00 a.m. His body has been placed in the mortuary as we move forward with the investigation,” Wakili said.
Witnesses said the late singer was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi, where doctors confirmed him d3ad.
His body has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of d3ath.
Meanwhile, fans and cultural enthusiasts have flooded social media with tributes, mourning the death of the singer and demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his d3ath.
