The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested one Ishiaku Bukar, 22, for allegedly r3ping an 11-year-old girl in Fike Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, September 13, said the suspect lured the victim to his farm under the pretext of offering assistance and r3ped her.

“The Yobe State Police Command strongly condemns all forms of harassment, r3pe, and abuse. The Command has successfully arrested a suspected child r3pist following a swift response by its operatives,” the statement read.

“On 13th September, 2025 at about 0700hrs, following a distress call from the guardian of an 11-year-old female survivor from Maiduwa Village, Fika LGA, operatives of the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters promptly apprehended one Ishiaku Bukar, 22 years, of the same address.

“The suspect lured the survivor to his farm under the pretext of offering assistance with a promise of reward, but instead took advantage of the situation and r3ped her.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing, while medical evaluation and treatment of the survivor have commenced.

“As farming activities resume across the State, reports of harassment and abuse against women and children engaged as farmhands have occasionally been received. The Command therefore warns that anyone found perpetrating such heinous acts will be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, psc, fdc, urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report all suspicious persons who take advantage of farming activities to harass or abuse women and children. Say No To Rape, Protect Women and Children.”
