Police arrest 11 men for s3xually abusing and impregnating 13-year-old mentally unstable girl in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested 11 men for allegedly impregnating a 13-year-old girl in Shanga Local Government Area of the state.

 

 

The spokesperson of the command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, July 19, 2025 said efforts are being intensified to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects and ensure diligent investigation. 

 

 

According to the PPRO, the suspects, all residents of Tungar Giwa village in Shanga LGA, lured the girl with cash gifts ranging from N200 to N500 and had s3xual intercourse with her severally in different locations which resulted to pregnancy. 

 

 

The victim gives birth to a baby boy on July 8, 2025.

 

“In it’s determination to rid Kebbi State of all forms of Gender Based Violence, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, had on 13th July, 2025, acting on credible intelligence, arrested 11 suspects namely: Ibrahim Bakanike, Danladi Nauyi, Danjuma Meli, Ibrahim Dankura, Ibrahim Isiaka, Masta Maishayi, Bello Muhammad, Danjuma Kodo, Aminu Isah, Zayyanu Isah and Ahmed Usman, all ‘m’ of Tungar Giwa village, Shanga LGA of Kebbi State,” the statement read.

 

“The suspects took advantage of one Sa’ima Dauda ‘f’ aged 13 yrs, who walked around in the village due to unsound mind by giving her money ranging from #200 to #500, lured her severally in different locations and had s3xual intercourse with her which resulted to pregnancy and she safely delivered a baby boy on 8th July, 2025.

 

“During preliminary investigation, all the suspects arrested in connection with the case have confessed to the commission of the crime.

 

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department to intensify effort in arresting the remaining two fleeing suspects and ensure diligent investigation.

 

“The CP equally reiterated the Command’s commitment in ensuring justice for the victims and speedy investigation of Gender Based Violence cases in the State.”
