A 26-year old woman, Abisoye Funmilayo, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, over allegations bordering on intimidation, stalking, threat to life and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The defendant was arraigned on Thursday, on a multi-count charge said to be contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
According to the charge sheet, Abisoye Funmilayo and others at large were alleged to have, between January 11 and January 18, 2026, at No. 7 Olusoji Shotiminu, Ojukoro Block Industry, Ikorodu, Lagos State, and within Ondo State, intimidated and threatened to k!ll one Babalola Bose and her children, an offence punishable under Section 19 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law of Ondo State, 2020.
In a second count, the defendant was accused of posting photographs of Babalola Bose and her children on a TikTok account with the inscription “Rest in Peace,” despite knowing that they are still alive.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Akolade Bakare, told the court that the offence allegedly committed by Funmilayo is punishable under Section 18 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law of Ondo State, 2020.
Bakare urged the court to grant an adjournment to enable him to assemble his witnesses.
After taking submissions, the presiding Magistrate, Odenusi-Fadeyi Otateju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned to February 12, 2026, for further hearing.
