
A Nigerian man who served two years in jail in the United States for defrauding East Texans and others of nearly $1m. has been charged with alleged murd£r in the UK.
According to met.police.uk, Abdul Kareem Fawaz, 35, has been charged with murd£r and possession of a knife and is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today (July 7) having been remanded in custody.
An investigation was launched after police were called to a residential address at Bondway, SW8 following reports of an altercation on Saturday, 5 July at 05:38hrs.
A man, aged 32, was found with knife injuries. He was treated by paramedics but sadly d!ed at the scene.
While formal identification awaits, he can be named as Daniel Manuel. Daniel’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
Two men, aged 35 and 33, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murd£r.
Fawaz has been charged as above. The 33-year-old has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
In 2017, Fawaz bagged two years in jail in the United States for defrauding East Texans and others of nearly $1m.
He was one of the two persons named in a federal indictment for charges of aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to commit bank fraud, as well as aiding and abetting.
He was travelling to the U.S. from Ghana when he was arrested at the airport in New York.
