Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, marked Nigeria’s 65th Independence today with a nostalgic throwback to how she used to celebrate the holiday while growing up.
In a video she shared, the actress recalled how every street used to be filled with children dressed in green and white, marching and singing the national anthem.
She said:
“Nigeria is 65. That’s a big number, older than my husband. I remember those days when it’s Independence — every kid on the street is flooded, myself dressed in green, everyone doing their march past, singing national anthem. I just hope it’s still the same, the joy to celebrate your country.”
Regina went on to talk about how patriotic it all felt, saying she still loves the memories of schools gathering to sing the anthem.
The mother of two then tried singing the anthem herself in the video, but amusingly forgot the last lines.
